Poor, albeit not irreparable, starts from the Crawfords, Bacharach Giants, West and Elite Giants, while Hilldale has flown out of the gates.

Homestead's title defence gets off to a rocky start as they lose veteran superstar Shohei Ohtani for five months to a fractured elbow and the CSW will be without outfielder Dusty Baker for up to 3 months after he suffers a medial strain.

Another big name with some recuperating time scheduled is Monte Irvin of the BGs, who will miss up to 3 months with a thumb injury.
