Post-season treasure trove overflows
As if winning the World Series weren't enough, awards season saw the Mets' treasure chest only expand.
NL MVP: Tony Perez
Perez led the majors in batting average, RBIs and finish seventh in home runs. Absolute beast mode season.
NL Cy Young: Wilbur Wood
The lefty claimed his second Cy Young in three seasons, boasting a 22-7 mark and 1.98 ERA. He's a dude, averaging over 276 innings a year over the past three campaigns.
NL Manager of the Year: Gil Hodges
Hodges was named the Manager of the Year for a fourth straight season. His steadying influence can't be overstated enough.
Silver Slugger recipients included Perez, Joe Morgan, Buddy Harrelson and Johnny Bench.
