I meant to come post in this thread when it happened. But it seems like Amazon has stepped in with a cash infusion to get Diamond Sports by for the rest of the NBA/NHL season and probably this upcoming MLB season.
In return it seems that networks under the Bally Sports banner will be simulcast and available via Prime video.
This could signal a larger play for Amazon into sports rights.
It has been rumored they are very interested in getting some of the upcoming NBA rights.
Apple of course has the MLS
Netflix just made a large deal with WWE which is 'sports' entertainment but for our purposes is live content.
I think this next round of deals, will be the last ones we see where it is on traditional linear TV and also streaming.
The deals after that will be pure streaming.
But that is just my prediction and remains to be seen.
