Cardinals Triumph in 1913 World Series
The St. Louis Cardinals pulled out all the stops tonight, winning the World Series in a hard-fought series with the Detroit Tigers.
It was a seesaw affair, but with a 4-1 victory at Navin Field, St. Louis lay claim to the franchise's 3rd championship.
"There's no denying we faced a tough opponent," said Joe Jackson. "But as the old saying goes, 'when the going gets tough, the tough get going,' and that's what we did today."
The champs finished the regular season 94-60 and claimed first place in the NL.
A victory parade is set to be scheduled in St. Louis in the days to come.
Cardinals win series 4-3

Series MVP: Joe Jackson (Hey, at least in this redo, he has a much better shot of being in the baseball Hall of Fame than IRL--having 3 World Series wins, 4 straight World Series appearances (so far), and a Series MVP instead of being with the Black Sox should count for something, shouldn't it? Also, I did not see the Cardinals dynasty coming, IMO...)
