Heads continue to roll in the coaching carousel
February 17th, 2018 -
Ottawa was the most recent team to cut ties with their bench boss, giving Mike Yeo his pink slip after less than a year. Yeo came in near the end of last season and clearly had a short leash this year, being let go after going 24-22-10 this year. The Senators sit four points back of the final wild card spot in the East.
His replacement will be Craig Berube, who coached the Flyers for four seasons before being let go this past offseason after a dismal year. Berube is good at making ingame tactical decisions and he is a fairly strict disciplinarian. He has good coaching skills, especially with forwards and in physical training. He is an aggressive line matcher and prefers a physical style of play. He has a decent reputation as a coach and could bring a boost to the Senators organization and push this club to be their best down the stretch.
