Buffalo makes coaching change
December 21st, 2017 -
With 13 wins through 34 games Buffalo General Manager Tim Murray had seen enough and fired Ted Nolan. Nolan coached Buffalo and franchise center McDavid to a playoff appearance last year but the magic wore off quickly this season. Critics of Murray are quick to point out that Nolan was not given much help in net over the course of the offseason. Be that as it may, a new coach will try his hand at getting the most out of this group.
Jack Capuano was introduced as the next coach of the Buffalo Sabres. Capuano was let go by Carolina this offseason after their rebuilding roster regressed to 32 wins. His overall record with Carolina in two seasons was 70-85-9. He will look to avoid similar results with this Buffalo club. Capuano is best at working with forwards. His coaching tendencies are fairly basic but he does a good job of making in-game tactical decisions and keeping his players motivated.
