In the top of the third, Mercer threw McGraw out at home as he tried to score from second on a Williams two-out single.

In the bottom of the third, Mercer broke the scoreless tie with a two-out RBI single.

After three: Washington 1 Baltimore 0.

In the top of the fifth, the Orioles loaded the bases with one out. Donlin went down on strikes for the second out. But Williams cleared the bases with a triple to put the Orioles in the lead. Seymour then brought Williams home with a single.

After six: Baltimore 4 Washington 1.

In the top of the seventh, Seymour got another two-out RBI single.

In the top of the ninth, Watty Lee took the mound for the Senators. Donlin scored from third when Bresnahan grounded into the 6-4 fielder's choice.

In the bottom of the ninth, a Dungan double scored a run. Dungan went on to score from third when SS Tommy Sheehan fumbled a Foster grounder. But the Senators would get no more.

The Orioles had 12 hits in the game to overcome three errors.

Final score: Baltimore 6 Washington 3.
