We took 3 of 4 from Texas, essentially eliminating them, they are now 5 1/2 back with 6 left. The A's lost 3 and are also on life support 5 games back. The White Sox kept pace, however, and they sit 1/2 back.

We have 1 more game left than the Sox, a make up of a rain out against the Brewers. Would be something to have the season come down to a make up game.

Looks like Wade Boggs will top Lynn for the batting average crown. Lynn is tied with Aikens and Horner with 36 HR's with Jack Clark sitting at 35 and Ben Oglivie at 34. Lynn is 14 RBI's in 1st in that category. Ray Fontenot leads in ERA at 2.45 ahead of Frank Viola at 2.74.

In the NL, Mike Marshall is still trying to get that Triple Crown. He leads in hitting at .337, but Gene Richards is right there at .335. He has 47 HR's, 8 more than Larry Hisle, who just hit his 300th. He also has 14 RBI more than Hisle, so if he can keep his average over Richards, he will get it.

Tim Leary may do something that has never been done in history....again. He leads the league with 18 wins. He led the league as a rookie 2 years ago with 21 wins, and he led last year with 19 wins. Nobody has ever led the league in wins their first 2 years in the league until then, so of course, 3 in a row would be a record I can't ever see being broken
