In real world there is also option with most players (at least top players) that play in European Leagues (Or at least in Liiga) that they can sign NHL or sometimes KHL or sometimes SHL/NLA contract while contracted. So this is also happening in real world. So I don't know if that is so big problem or it is realism? Don't know how fast in real life teams get notified that their player is leaving though.

The issue I have is that you're not warned before it happens, they just sign overnight and now your first line is gone with 0 warning. Just let me know an NHL team has taken interest in them to give me time to look for a replacement
