In the top of the second, the Americans loaded the bases with two out. But Parent flew to right to retire the side.

In the bottom of the third, the Orioles loaded the bases with two out. But Williams flew to left to end the inning.

After three: Boston 0 Baltimore 0.

In the top of the fourth, Ferris scored from third on a passed ball to break the scoreless tie. The Americans went on to load the bases with one out. Freeman flew to left for the second out without bringing home a run. Schreckengost then singled to center to score Stahl from third. However, on the play, Brodie threw Parent out at home as he tried to score from second to retire the side.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Orioles loaded the bases with one out and the pitcher Yerkes delivered a run-scoring single to put them on the board. McGraw then beat out the 6-4-3 attempt to bring in the tying run.

After six: Boston 2 Baltimore 2.

In the top of the seventh, the Americans loaded the bases with one out. Dowd put the Americans back in front with an RBI single. Ferris followed with an infield single to put the Americans back up by two. Young flew to left for the second out without bringing home a run. Stahl then grounded to third to retire the side.

In the top of the eighth, Parent scored from first on a Collins single combined with a Seymour errant throw to third. The Americans went on to load the bases with nobody out. Hemphill got a run-scoring single but, on the play, Brodie threw Freeman out at home as he tried to score from second. An infield single reloaded the bases with one out. Ferris brought a run in with a sacrifice fly. A two-out triple by Young brought home two more to complete the five-run inning.

In the top of the ninth, Bill Karns took the mound for the Orioles.

In the bottom of the ninth, Williams got an RBI with a sacrifice fly.

The two teams combined for 34 hits in the contest and the Orioles also committed three errors.

Final score: Boston 9 Baltimore 3.
