Game 26: Washington Senators vs. Boston Americans

The Washington Senators (16-10) prevented the sweep by topping the Boston Americans (11-15) by a 7 to 5 score.

Rookie Doc Scanlan (7-1) did just enough to eek out the victory, allowing 5 earned runs on 8 hits and 2 walks to finish with a Game Score of 54. Scanlan, despite sporting an era of 4.18, a 5.57 SIERA, and a .323 BABIP, leads MLB in Wins. Sam Leever (2-4) took the loss after serving up 7 runs (6 earned) on 14 hits and 3 walks; Game Score of 30.

The Senators were led by Danny Green (3 for 5, Double, Homerun, 2 Runs, 1 RBI), Willie Keeler (2 for 5, 1 Run, 2 RBIs), Monte Cross (2 for 4, 1 Run, 1 RBI, 1 Walk), and Jack Doyle (2 for 5, 2 Runs). Boston's run production came from Jiggs Donahue (2 for 2, Triple, 2 Runs, 2 RBIs, 1 Walk, 1 Stolen Base) and John Farrell (2 for 4, 1 Run).
