There has been talk of having opening day rosters and accurate 25 (and 40) man rosters during the season. I can't speak for OOTP, but I'd say that if the data were to become available, OOTP would implement it. That's what happened with historical transactions, and real lineups. OOTP didn't just magically create the files necessary
And I've been told that the main impediment to something I've wanted - historical minor league transactions - is that they are not available. IOW, the message was "if someone were to provide a relatively complete file, we'd look to implement it." So I'm sure that'd be the approach with opening day and accurate 25-mans...
For more recent seasons, the transactions (signings, releases, promo's & demo's, etc.) are pretty much available. But for long ago seasons, it would take some work to come up with the txns necessary to have accurate 25-man rosters... Probably not out of the question, though.
I heard that there is another game out there that does include 25-man rosters (and the txns necessary to make them happen). However, it's been pointed out that they are not all that accurate...
