Kawasaki Baseball Stadium
This is the last Japanese historical stadium on my list. I think I've finished all of the major ones. It's a bit difficult to find good material on the old Kawasaki Baseball Stadium because it has been transformed into a football venue that is active today. I tried my best to gather as much information from blurry photos and google translate some old Japanese websites.
Kawasaki Baseball Stadium was built on a small lot, measuring only 387 feet to center, and around 292 feet at the corners. So it's one of the easiest place to hit a homerun in the league. Also, right field stands had to be squeezed in due to city road plan. Balls would routinely fly out of the park and damage the neighboring residence. For protection, a high fence was thus installed there.
The stadium also had natural grass with an all dirt infield. This is common practice in Japan at the time. However, at some point the field was replaced, creating an unusual open air stadium with artificial turf.
These eccentricities all made Kawasaki Stadium unique and I want to show that in the model.
