I just finished 1962. Don Drysdale was an absolute mess for the first few months of the season. Then he turned into a total stud for the last 3 months. Finished with 20 wins and might have won the Cy Young if it wasn't for Koufax his teammate. The Dodgers were almost unbeatable in July. Now I'm playing 1963 and Koufax has a stellar 1.97 ERA, but he's 6-6. Dodgers are in first place, but they just seem to find a way to lose when Koufax is pitching.
Way back when I first started playing OOTP, I had to make myself stop comparing real life season stats with OOTP season stats. I actually wish they would remove the "real stats" line from the player info widget. Unless you're using real lineups, OOTP introduces so many factors into the pot, it's easy for players to slide. Cool thing is, in the end, players usually come pretty darn close to their actual career numbers.
Spahn's strikeouts went down some from 1953-57. What does the Braves defense look like in your game?
Also, do you have development on as well as recalc?
