The rule is an insult to the game. One of the very best things about OOTP is turning it off.

With my strong feelings, it’s hard to support the option to use after the XX inning. But, in a rational world, maybe playing out hundreds of seasons with the option at various innings might yield data that could be used to persuade MLB to back off?

Seriously, the first MLB game I attended with the lousy rule, I just wanted to leave. A scoreless game; but I didn’t want to be a part of an arcade game. Why would I want something I am thoroughly enjoying to be over sooner, played under different rules than for the first nine innings, or the first 150 years, for that matter?
