After 5 months of tournament competition, the
first Perfect Team Master Series will take place on
Saturday, September 23 beginning at noon ET!
This tournament will take place with the
top 64 teams based on points accumulated by participants in the first five Perfect Team Championship Series tournaments, all for the chance at a big prize and something more!
There will be
two different PTMS tourneys - one for Traditional Tournaments and one for Perfect Drafts. Placement in either tournament is based on points accumulated from Traditional PTCS or Perfect Draft PTCS.
The winners of each PTMS tournament will move onto the
Perfect Team World Championship, where they will meet the top two performers from Perfect League in a bracketed tournament! The winner will emerge as the PT World Champion! (The criteria for top two performers in Perfect League is based on the number of Perfect League championships as of Sunday, Sept. 24.)
Below are the formats that will be used for the two PTMS tournaments.
All tournaments will take place in a run environment resembling the year 2000, with a DH, and will take place at 1937 Fenway Park.
Traditional Tournament PTMS: Gold Floor, 2245 Cap
Perfect Draft PTMS: Gold-to-Perfect Historical Draft with Limited Edition cards available to draft
For those who may be wondering, here's the draft breakdown of a Gold-To-Perfect draft. Teams will pick from 12 cards per round:
- Round 1-3: Pick 3 Historical Perfects in each round
- Round 4: Pick 1 High Diamond (95-99 OVR) card
- Round 5: Pick 2 High Diamond cards
- Round 6: Pick 2 Low Diamond (90-94 OVR) cards
- Round 7: Pick 1 Low Diamond card
- Round 8: Pick 1 High Gold (85-89 OVR) card
- Round 9 and 10: Pick 2 High Gold cards
- Round 11-13: Pick 2 Low Gold (80-24 OVR) cards in each round
For prizes,
everyone who qualifies for the PTMS will receive a reward card. Taking a page out of last cycle's PTMS,
players will be getting all reward cards at and below the place they finish. That means if you finish in 17th-32nd place, you will get the 33rd-64th place reward card in addition to the 17th-32nd place card, and if you finish 2nd place, you will get the 33rd-64th place, 17th-32nd place, 9th-16th place, 5th-8th place and 3rd/4th place card rewards, and so on.
