In this live start (from a couple weeks ago), he never got injured, actually had a really good end to the season too. His ratings look great. As a hitter alone, he's worth FAR more than that contract.
My thinking for what this bug is, is that the AI could be looking at him only as a pitcher (which that deal is fair for), or maybe it overvalues the opt-out. But either way, his listed demand on the offseason center was 10y, 600m, which is much more in line with expectations.
Also, not to beat a dead horse, but the trade frequency is still insane on default settings. Ever since the offseason started, been 8-12 trades per day. I only get a trade offer once every few days though.

I understand your point but we are still talking about assumptions that have not passed IRL yet, I would never pay 10 years 600 million, and then have a 39 year old player earning 60 million a year, I think the best example of these contracts is how Pujols and Cabrera's contracts ended the last years (this year being the last year of the contract for approx 32 million and is a player of OPS+81 and -0.4 WAR).
For me Ohtani's estimate (before the injury) could be around 450 million for 10 or 11 years.
After the injury we will see in a few months.
