I kinda wonder what the point is of the moneyball-type approaches are with teams like the A's, Pirates, etc. Seems like it's a cyle of developing prospects to where there about to break out and where they can't afford them, then trading them for future assets, which turn into prospects that they develop... and eventually can't afford... and then they trade them... I mean, they are basically just a farm system
within MLB...
