CHIEF BENDER

Bender is projected to be a top 5 pick this draft from Crow Wing, MN. He is half Cherokee and should be an ace of any staff. The 1901 draft for the 1902 season produced 2 Cy Young award rookies so Bender along with Mordecai Brown, Cy Falkenborg and Andy Coakley (did not sign with Boston Beaneaters) should be making a nice pay day.

In real life Bender pitched over 200 innings at 19 years old and was a well liked teammate. Most of his career was with the Philadelphia Athletics which will draft too high to get him so he probably will end up in Washington or Brooklyn at this point. Weird thing about him was that he was finished in 1917 but came back to pitch 2 innings in 1925.
