The more I play OOTP the more I realize that control is crucial for starting pitchers. It's not because walks are all that terrible in and of themselves, in fact woba/ WRC+ rank walks lower than all other methods for reaching base. Instead it's because pitchers with low control have throw significantly more pitches per AB than pitchers with high control regardless of whether they are walking all that many or recovering from falling behind in AB's.

All that said I made a terrible trade for a pitcher with good stuff and movement but low control. He starts to eat into his stamine by the second inning of his outings... it's very dissappointing to see.

All that said, he is young, has good stuff and movement and is a 60/80 overall. Do I put him in the pen, trade him for prospects, make him the team mascot? Idk...
