That occurred to me too. Imagine if this was Cole instead of Germán; heavily invested number one starter versus the guy who had not even figured in the rotation when the season started and who had stunk up the place in his previous couple of starts. Imagine Boone nervously fingering his stat/cheat sheet while he goes up against the protocol: "One more pitch and I yank Cole, perfecto or no."
