Jose Zardon was leading the AL with a .379 batting average on 07/23/1947. On the 23rd Lansing traded Zardon to Memphis along with Emil Kush for Wes Westrum. Zardon is still hitting .373, but no longer qualifies for the batting title, as Memphis has used him in a grand total of 9 games since the trade(currently August 23). Zardon has only started 1 game for the Redbirds. Stuff happens, so I'm now whining, just found it kind of interesting.
