One of the great things about baseball is you never know which player is suddenly going to shine. A perfect example is St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Buck Hooker and his surprise May 1902 performance. In taking home National League Pitcher of the Month honors, Hooker went 6-0 with a 1.14 ERA and 1.3 WAR.
