This league with 50 teams is a wonderful way to satisfy the Big Playoffs proponents in a way never done before. Its time for some out of the box thinking.

However with teams in every state there is a huge temptation to put the teams into divisions based on state characteristics such and east or west of the Mississippi River, north or south of the Mason Dixon line, red or blue, etc. This must be resisted.

Divisions don't mean anything when there are large playoffs. Just throw every team into the same pot and sort by best record.

However with large playoffs and standard season length there's a possibility the World Series may find its dates coinciding with the Super Bowl. This is to be avoided.

The answer is a shorter season of 98 games (each team plays every other team twice) which would wrap up in early to mid July. Then it would be time for the All Star Game, except there are too many players for just two All Star teams. So turn it into a one and done All Star playoff with eight All Star teams or perhaps a two of three with four teams.

Then its time for the post season. Take the top 30 teams and give them a bye. (Yes I know 30 doesn't eliminate into a single winner but bear with me. This is a great idea that works.)

Then take the next sixteen teams and put them in a pre post season playoff. This means four teams don't make the playoffs which is less than 10%. Big Playoffs Proponents REJOICE!

This is perfect because statistical analysis shows its only the bottom 10% who actually have no chance no matter how lucky they are of qualifying for the typical large playoff so the system eliminates who needs to be eliminated and only who needs to be eliminated.

So then take the sixteen pre post season teams and run playoffs for them but not until there's a winner. Run it until there are two teams left. Then add those two teams to the 30 that have byes and there's a perfectly constructed 32 game playoff.

With seven games series by now it would be mid to late August and the actual post season can start Five rounds here puts the season end at early to mid October which is a perfect time for the World Series.

I hope Rob Manfred takes note of these possibilities. The system is the answer to his dreams.
