It seems that playing the 'current' season (aka Real World) or fictional, charging the mound results in a ejection, but playing random history or a single historic year, it does not happen.
Playing 1980, I just had John Curtis intentionally hit the first 4 San Francisco batters, with two charging the mound, Curtis was not tossed (the game says he and the batter were tossed, but he is still on the mount and the batter on first). So Curtis hits 4 more, with three charging the mound, and he is still pitching. (Curtis was finally replaced by the computer coach, after the 9th HBP, for giving up 6 runs, with no outs and the bases full).
