I don't know if this works without Hard Mode enabled. I haven't tried. But it is currently possible to force the AI into accepting any trade even in Challenge Mode. This is working in my fresh start created with the new patch.

Steps to Recreate

1. Submit a trade the AI does not automatically approve.
2. When the AI sends a response, instead of "Adding and Discussing..." select "Discuss This Trade."
3. Add other players to the trade to the point the AI instantly rejects w/o a message.
4. Go back to the original rejection, select the drop down "add ..." and add a player that would have completed the earlier offer.

The AI will now accept the offer, including all of the edits made, and complete the trade after adding one of the players they identified.
