The latest patch has a list of fixes a mile long. I guess, if your glass is half-empty, you complain that the game should have been perfect on release, or should not have been released until now. [That ignores the reality that thousands of players will identify bugs that dozens of beta testers did not encounter.]
My glass if half-full. I get to play the game in the Spring, and gradually incorporate the various patches to improve the process. So to me that’s like “having your cake and eating it too”. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Every year, the same complaints about the discount. Anyone who has played OOTP knows that the new version will be discounted at some point. If you really want to save a few bucks, feel free to wait. Not as if it’s a surprise or a fire sale. Just marketing.
Name me another product that has this level of persistent support. Go ahead, name one. That’s right, you can’t. There are so many products and apps that are one and done, or annual updates/upgrades/fixes. This is happening in real time, transparently, driven by the community feedback. Sure it’s not always pretty; but stuff gets fixed. And it’s not as if the game was “unplayable” upon release. It was. I have. So have many others.

Pretty much my experience with OOTP. Not just v24 but every year.
I've been playing v24 since release and haven't had anything game breaking.
I do play out every game so the slow pace is an advantage, I think.
