The American League has turned into a three team race. Detroit came on strong and pulled to within a game of the league lead before fading over the final week. Currently, Cleveland leads the AL by one game after going 15-10 in July. The White Sox were just 13-11 and now sit in second place. The Tigers went just 14-11 overall in July, but they were swept in a 3-game series by the Broncos at the end of the month, dropping them 5 games back.
The Cardinals pulled away in the NL this month. They went 18-9 and have pulled out to an 8-game lead over Brooklyn, who struggled at 11-14 in July.

Will Miller, LF, Washington - Will is continuing to impress. This month he hit .413 with 11 RBI and 20 runs scored. He now leads the AL batting race with a .367 average!
Thomas Strasser, LF, Cleveland Broncos - Thomas hit .286 with 5 RBI, 3 runs scored and 4 steals. I thought this was worth noting: Back on June 13th, Strasser went 4-for-4 with a walk, 4 RBI and 5 runs scored against the Browns. That still ranks as the top offensive performance of the season.
