Historical league finances issues
Anybody else seeing issues with historical finances? I've started historical leagues w/ 1983, 1984 and 1985 Cubs. At the start of each game (end of February), the Cubbies usually are $500,000-$1 million in the red, as is about every other team but occasionally the Dodgers. This basically prevents trades, etc., as no teams have money. For my Cubs teams, this happens regardless of owner fiscal personality. I've started each league using default financial settings.
Another issue I've seen is that even though I may end a season with a big budget surplus, the day after the season ends and the owner assigns a new budget, I'm back to millions in the red (even w/ owner giving me a budget increase). The same thing happens to most other teams in the league (except for the Dodgers and a few others), which prevents early free agent signings. What's weird is that somewhere around Dec 10 or so, my team will occasionally see my budget go from being deep in the red to having money to spend overnight for no apparent reason.
What am I missing? Help would be appreciated, as this creates confusing gameplay.
