State of the Team

The team has continued its tear, going 16-11 in June and now sitting at 54-29, 9.5 games up in the division and comfortably the 3rd-best record in MLB behind the Cardinals (57-28) and the Dodgers (58-25). The team ranks 6th in Runs Scored, 3rd in SP ERA, 1st in RP ERA, and 1st in Team ERA in the AL.

News Dump

C Bryan Lavastida (2.0, 2.5) was recalled from AAA Columbus. In a corresponding move, 1B Josh Naylor (2.0, 2.0) was demoted to AAA Columbus. C Bo Naylor (2.5, 4.0) is expected to take the bulk of the DH at-bats while 1B Vinnie Pasquantino (2.5, 3.0) takes over at 1B full-time.

Additionally, a trade with the Minnesota Twins was completed to bolster the bullpen.

Inbound: RP Jakob Hernandez (3.5, 3.5), SS Jermaine Palacios (2.5, 2.5)

The Twins approached me offering Hernandez, a lefty with elite stuff and strong movement that can improve the spot Angel Perdomo (2.5, 2.5) occupied. Hernandez also only just started his service time clock. I decided to give up Marsh and Arias, knowing they were luxuries in my system currently, and acquire Palacios in return to make up for the depth where Arias left.

In a corresponding move, OF Steven Kwan (2.5, 2.5) was optioned to AAA Columbus, RP Angel Perdomo (2.5, 2.5) was DFA'd, and SP Joey Cantillo (2.5, 2.5) was promoted to MLB Cleveland from AAA Columbus.
