This is the part I've never understood in OOTP nor why it's this way.
How are we able to place players on the active roster and not have them automatically be placed on the 40 man?
As far as I understand the rules players on the active roster are on the 40 man, so why is this an extra step in OOTP?
This is what likely happened. OP sighed Ohtani and placed him on his active roster thinking that he would automatically be added to the 40 man, like it would in RL, so when the Rule 5 draft comes along he loses him.
So yes telling OP to just undo it will let him play his game with Ohtani, but it also needs to be asked why did it happen?
Why is putting them on the 40 man an extra step? I can't think of a single reason why it's this way. If you know why please explain it cause I'd like to understand the reasoning behind it
