Game 2 of the San Jose, San Diego series saw the Raiders looking to build on the win the got in game 1. Manager Mike Moore tweaked the line up to give Catcher Scott Ha a rest.

Things got off to a bad start for the Raiders and The San Diegpo Marauders put up 3 runs in the bottom of the 1st. Alphonso Bush led off with a single. He moved to second when Tony Garcia also singled. Dorian Coryell then hit one 423 feet to record a 3 run homer to give the Marauders the lead.

Things got worse for Efrain Ramirez and the Raiders in the bottom of the second as San Diego added a 4th run to their lead. Omar Mitchell was hit by a pitch. He then moved to second when Chad Gray got a wild pitch. Mitchell moved to third on a balk to Adam Gosvener before a ground out by Gosvener bought Mitchell home.

The San Jose Raiders managed to halve their deficit in the top of the 3rd. Armando Sandoval led off with a single. He moved to second when George Tizzard saw a wild pitch. Enrique Huerta then hit one 349 feet to pick up a 2 run homer to make the score 4-2.

The bottom of the 4th saw the San Diego Marauders stretch their lead again. Omar Mitchell picked up a single. He moved to second when Adam Gosvener also got a single. Alphonso Bush was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Eric Cosby then reached on an error to bring Mitchell home.

The bottom of the 6th saw the San Diego Marauders all but put the game away with a further 2 runs. Alphonso Bush gained a walk. Eric Cosby then hit one 331 feet for a 2 run homer to make the score 7-2.

The bottom of the 8th saw the Marauders add an extra run to their total. Alphonso Bush got a double. After a Tony Garcia walk, Dorian Coryell hit a single that allowed Bush to round third and power home, beating the throw from right.

The top of the 9th saw the San Jose Raiders try to make a comeback but it was to little to late. Hugo Arias got a walk. Mark Sofka then singled to move Arias to second. The bases were loaded when Manny Jaime hit a single. Scott Ha (subbing for Mike Lentz) then hit a double to allow Arias and Sofka to score. An Armando Sandoval fly out then allowed Manny Jaime to tag up and come home.

The final score saw the raiders go down 8-5 to drop their record to 54-53.
