The ALCS marches on as the Rays' bats went silent in Game 5 and an old friend named Austin Meadows had a 2-run homer off Shane McClanahan to provide the winning margin for the White Sox, who have risen from the mat to pull within 3-2 in the ALCS. So instead of heading back to St. Pete to play Game 1 of the World Series the Rays are going there to try for the third time to put Chicago away in Game 6. John Swanda will hope to break out of his postseason funk when he takes the mound.
