October 22, 2027: ALCS Game 4 & NLCS Game 5

Now going for the Gentleman's Sweep...

Despite hitting four homers the Rays were doomed by lousy pitching (outside of Taj Bradley) in a 10-6 loss to the White Sox, keeping the ALCS alive for a Game 5. Bryce Eldridge was not ready for prime time and Zach DeLoach dropping a fly ball from the game's leadoff hitter was not a great omen. Still the Rays came back to tie it up at 4 and we made it there through 6 1/2 before Chris Gau came up small again, giving up a 2-run homer to the second man he faced to put Chicago up for good, and then he and Garrett Whitlock really let it get out of control in the 8th. So Shane McClanahan will toe the rubber tomorrow to try and clinch again; he'll be looking to pitch better than he did in Game 1.

Meanwhile it's all over in the NLCS as the 104-win Mets go down to defeat:
