in the settings, possibly? In franchise play, the first season is over, and it is Nov 25th (Free agent filing day). I am trying to offload a $6M contract, and picking up a league minimum in return.

It's telling me that my money available will decrease by $740k if I do this deal. I don't remember this being an issue in previous iterations of the game, so I thought it might be some setting that needs to be tweaked. But I haven't found anything that restricts trading during certain times of year. I don't have a lot of wiggle room with my franchise currently, due to inflated contracts.
