My style is not to sit around and focus on what doesn't need attention, but rather to try and improve what feel does. I can be very blunt, and matter of fact at times I suppose, but that's just the way I operate.
Unfortunately, many people here have developed much more "thin skin" over the years, and consider themselves advocates (sycophants) for OOTP. So, for those who feel the forums are not the same as they once were...they are probably very correct. This was at one time a place where ideas and thoughts could be shared with mutual respect and even fun. Somehow society has gotten the idea that if someone doesn't agree with another persons' views, it's ok to shout them down...it's ok to just cancel and ignore them...rather than have honest discourse and rigorous healthy debate.
Just my thoughts anyway.
But getting back to OOTP...I don't know if the lack of detail is purposeful or not. I am not in a strong position to judge since I have known all of the details since the start of BETA...so that puts me in a tough position to say if the buildup was adequate for most people or not. All I can go by is what I see and hear in the posts and streams.
I am just pointing out that very few podcasts and/or streams deal with the base game. This is an all around the year observation from me. Whenever you see a new OOTP podcast 9/10 times it's going to be "This Week in PT". It is never really a strategy discussion about how to build a bullpen...or what I might look for in starting pitchers? What does an ideal lineup look like? What's the best way to manufacture runs cheaply? My list of ideas for discussions in endless really. I also used to host my own radio broadcasts however, so maybe it's not a fair comparison. I guess I am just saying they find a way to do it with PT, but not the base game for some reason.

We all knew this would happen when PT was first introduced and even more so when the company was sold to a mobile game company.
Guess I didn't miss anything by not listening to the podcasts
