Carter doesn't. The racing isn't the flag. The weight gain isn't the flag. Racing & gaining weight & being out of shape before you're drafted is the flag. The dude is throwing away $. He's not throwing away his career. He is losing the salary a top 3 pick would get for the $ a top 10-15 pick would get.
GM's are asking themselves "Are the potential problems Carter could bring worth the #__ pick & the salary that slot demands? Or is there another player that would bring me similar value but fewer sleepless nights?"

I don't disagree with this. I just think if he falls, it's due to his pro day. That's a red flag.
