The Jets have an otherwise good team outside of WR.
Why not trade say a 5th to the Colts for Minshew (or sign him before the Colts did) and use him as your starter for a year.
I am under no illusions that Minshew is a top tier QB or even tier 2. But he has seemed at least competent every time I have seen him.
With a good supporting cast, I think you could make the wildcard.
Why spend two firsts and a second on a 40 year old Rodgers who is a 50 million cap hit?
Maybe I don’t have a football mind. But I don’t get NFL front offices sometimes.
I wish my Commanders would do this. We will not get a QB with the 16th pick.
We have an otherwise competent team.
Use that pick on a TE or a WR and use Minshew for a year and see what happens. If it goes wrong, then you are just out a low pick or some money.
