Pro Cup XLII Champions: Claxton Diamonds (1st title)
1912
Midway was unable to make up for blowing a 3-0 Pro Cup lead three years ago. They fell short for the second time in their history, and are still without a Pro Cup. On the other hand, Claxton avenged their loss two years ago to South Fork and finally won their 1st championship.
The Diamonds didn't hit many home runs during the postseason, but they got one when it was needed the most. Bench player Danny Rodriguez, on the tail end of his career, belted a pinch-hit two-run blast to give Claxton an 8-6 lead in the 8th inning. The Diamonds added one more for a 9-6 title-clinching victory. It didn't look promising early in the game, as Midway raced out to a 4-0 lead, but Claxton didn't give up, and it paid off.
