As for historical changes, we'll detail more as we go through, but one of the big items listed was the addition of the pitcher babip field. I talked about it a little on the podcast, but it should help make the best players from the past who always seem to have an innate ability to miss bats reach their potentials. And it should also help teams who in the past on replays have under-performed without making all their players Ozzie Smith in the field.
There's some other changes as well - we have re-rated virtually everyone with new historical defensive ratings, which should hopefully better reflect their careers and again help some teams out who relied on big fielding.
Plus even more items like being able to better auto-import everything from parks to historical jerseys if you download historical mods, and really let you actually play your games out in the historical context with very little effort from your part (in a perfect world, you can probably download a mod to one folder, and everything will magically work for you when you play through your historical game. In reality, you may have to move a couple files around, but hopefully it should ease the process). And even little things related to that, like when you're playing in the past, we'll go back to calling stadiums by their actual names (like Fenway Park), but still allowing easy access if you have a "Fenway Park 19xx-19xx" 3d model to use for when parks we re-named or changed layouts.
