I left the game running for some hours and did some other stuff on my machine and could continue playing later without any issue.
Is there anything that you've changed when installing it? Custom paths, some custom settings? It should not freeze the game, of course, but there might be some undiscovered bug.
Or maybe there is something on your system that optimize applications that could interfere with the game?
