Well, as you may know, I like good speed, good pitching, good defense, and versatility on my teams that I typically run, if not also youth and/or good hitting. Not so much a fan of long balls, though, to be honest.
I prefer non-DH settings and four-pitcher rotations by default with generally no more than about a third of an active roster consisting of pitchers, whether during most of the season or after the roster expansion deadline, for starters. For 25-man rosters, I generally prefer teams to have no more than about 8 or 9 pitchers on a typical roster at any time, and for starters to usually be able to last in their starts until late in the sixth inning, if not at least into the seventh inning, with the bullpen typically covering the rest of the game from whenever the starters get removed. In essence, I probably prefer much more of a National League-style game, when i watch or manage games out, where pitchers hit and all, more often than not, with double-switches often common, for instance.
I'm not a fan of artificial turf nor non-retractable domed stadiums, as a general rule. I really liked following Whitey's Cardinals when they were running and gunning like they were, so to speak. I wonder what they could have done had Busch Stadium had natural grass instead of artificial turf while he was still managing them, in truth, every so often.
I liked players like Ozzie and Bruce and Willie, among others, of course, but there were probably some players I didn't like then, as well. I can't exactly remember who those players might be or were, at the moment, if that was the case when I was about 30 or so years younger than now, or at least not well, most likely.
Ideally, I'd like to see pitchers in my various worlds have good chances at getting at least 300 wins, if not more than that, with at least 2,000 strikeouts with ERAs below 3.00, on average, at the very least, and pitching for at least as many innings as they get for themselves, strikeouts-wise, if they're starting pitchers. I don't like pitch counts, generally, either. But I really don't know of any sufficiently good way to prevent the game from potentially basing just how long a starting pitcher can go in most games on them, if the game is often doing so for default stamina and all here, as of yet.
In any case, I suppose I'd best get back to working on that current main writing project of mine, as soon as I possibly can, so I can hopefully then complete it sufficiently well for now as soon as possible and all. Thank you for your time and all, then, EC, as always. CD out.
