Cards news: July 23 -- Two minor leaguers named to Prospects Game
The St. Louis Cardinals have had two minor leaguers -- outfielder Jordan Walker and right-handed relief pitcher Freddy Pacheco -- named to the National League roster for the annual Prospects Game.
Both players are members of the AAA Memphis Redbirds.
Walker, 21, has played in 57 games for the Redbirds during which he has hit .208 with 17 homers and 49 RBIs. He has got on base at a .299 clip and is slugging .491.
Walker was drafted by the Cardinals in the first round of the 2020 draft.
Pacheco, 25, has split his season between AA Springfield and Memphis.
He has pitched in 31 games going 3-6 with 14 saves and a 8.32 ERA.
Pacheco is an international free agent signed in 2017.
