Recap:
Chesapeake Bay and Southern Appalachia showed the spectators why this was an elimination game. In a nailbiter in Washington DC, the visitors prevailed to remain alive in the American 50. That road will no longer run through the nation's capital, though, as the home team was eliminated in 10 innings. Both teams had their aces lined up, but both Cody Morris and Walker Buehler wouldn't turn out to be the headliners of this game. With the score 2-1 to Chesapeake Bay, the visitors carefully restored their 1st inning lead on some small ball runs. Daniel Hudson was then granted the save opportunity, but he gave up a run scoring single to pinch hitter Brett Renfrow to tie things up. In extras, Josh Hader gave up a three-run jack to Adam Duvall, who would turn out to be the hero for the visitors before Nick Robertson did cash in his save opportunity.
