Southern Appalachia took their final lifeline by defeating Rust Belt 5-1 in Louisville. 4.1 strong innings by starter Easton McGee paved the way for the home side, who jumped to a 2-0 lead in the 3rd on a two-run single by J.D. Mundy. The visitors pulled one back in the 4th, but Central Appalachia restored the lead to three before adding two more runs in the 5th. The bullpen then proceeded to give up only one run on two hits in 4.2 innings. It was a good day for the home side's bottom of the lineup, because Higgins, Forbes and Tomlin went 5-for-13 with two RBI. With that win, Central Appalachia's dreams stay alive, but the Rust Belt are the fourth side eliminated.
