Not sure what the name of this team is. It could be the Hummingbirds/Colibris, or the Anthems/Hymns. Right now I'm calling them Les Rois Déconcertés de Montréal, the Baffled Kings.


This board has plenty of great designs for Montréal, but they're all so monarchic. I didn't want a fleur de lis. I wanted to do a Leonard Cohen thing. He's from there.


It is a mashup, for reasons that make some sense to me, of the Montréal Royals, the Kansas City Monarchs, the album cover of The Future. The crown is meant to have been thrown off or defeated by the heart (replacing the chains in the album cover). It also, maybe, rolled off the king's head, maybe something happened to his neck…



I believe from a signature I see a lot that there is at least one person on this board who would like this



"Baffled" would accurately describe the reaction of all parties — 18th century kings, 20th century black athletes and their bigoted opponents, mystic horny poet singers — to seeing this logo
