That seems like a completely reasonable alternative to, say, not having a game at all or never having had the option to have that league in the game previously. I imagine there will eventually be more clarity but the situation is obviously evolving and the OOTP has made it clear they do not feel like they can provide any more information than they have (which clarifies 90% of the issue) at the moment.
It is/was dumb to have unlicensed leagues in he game. I avoided them for that reason. It was widely known they weren't licensed. This league was a very small percentage of what the game offers and your Saves weren't even truly ruined...the players/teams were just randomized which is something that you can move forward with if you really want to.
If you feel you were wronged enough to ask for a refund then do that.
Again. I ask what it is you actually want to accomplish beyond that?
