Its a business, people in business take risks to take their product further. Some pay off, some don't. Aside from the 3D stadiums they were able to snag with this deal, I don't know what else has been added to OOTP that would be considered a net benefit (of course there's money, larger staff, more perks for the creator, but I don't particularly care about that)

Markus has always looked to better his situation and the game's. (Remember SI)

I don't fault him for his decision, I don't think he's trying to kill OOTP, as this niche genre only has so many avenues to take to get bigger.
