Yes, you can hit enter, but if you are watching the game as if it is one TV, you don't want to have to hit enter to move things along. You just want to sit with your beer and watch your team perform.
I get that this isn't that big of a deal, but it be nice if you could toggle off the extended strikeout and between innings animations (or at least the option to choose how long the animation continues).
