A bigger studio like Com2uS shouldn't have bought the game if they weren't willing to use their resources to even maintain its status, let alone improve it.
And I'd very much like to see an explanation as well. I don't think they've stated whether they literally couldn't get a [redacted] license for some reason or if they were just too cheap to acquire one. And I don't think they've said if they're working on getting [redacted] back into the game for OOTP 24.
If they simply decided the license fee wasn't worth it for the last few months of OOTP23's lifetime but that they were intending to pay the fee starting next year in order to have the league active for a full calendar year, I'd still be upset about how they handled it, but would probably understand. If they've given up on being a game that simulates all the world's top leagues, though, that would be very disappointing.
